TESTIMONY From the Pathway Conference
I attended the Pathway Conference taught by Pastor John Ziehr, who is the president of Biblical Concepts in Counseling in Colorado Springs, Co. True Life Counseling, here in Wasilla, where I have been coming for counseling sponsored this event.
I wasn’t sure what to expect but I am so thankful I went. I have struggled with knowing if my walk with the Lord was growing or not. I know I have been stuck in my emotional pain, but thought I was doing okay with God. I learned that yes, God and I are okay because He is in charge of the relationship. Yes, I have pain in my life I need and want to work through, but it does not take away from how much I am loved and accepted by God. I was encouraged about myself and what I learned about the stages of maturity. I am on the move. I am hearing God and responding to his love. It was great to understand how I started out in my understanding of relationships and why, and then to see that I have matured and am growing. I have a renewed hope that I will have better and better relationships as I choose to allow Christ to live his life through me. Now, a saying that was told me in counseling really makes sense:
Jesus gave his life for me, So he could give his life to me, So he could live his life through me.
One of the books that was recommended has really helped me put the pieces of what was presented together. If you get a chance to read THE ESSENTIALS OF CHRISTIAN LIVING, THE LIFE MODEL (LIVING FROM THE HEART JESUS GAVE YOU), by Friesen, Wilder, Bierling, Koepcke and Poole, I know it will change things for you, too.

Hi;
I have been asked to write about my experience with True Life Counseling.
I have known about TLC for a long time due to friends who had gone there and been helped a lot. I guess I always hoped I could deal with my issues without having to get “counseling” because I felt it would be embarrassing. As I found out, the longer you wait to get help, the bigger the problems get.
When I finally made an appointment I was really surprised at how comfortable I was. The counselor made me feel like it was a safe place to share my life. There was no pressure, no condemnation, no expectations of me in any way. I was amazed that after the first appointment I felt like there was hope and I had been given a new understanding about my emotions.
As I progressed through my weeks of counseling I gained a solid understanding of who I am in Christ and how He simply wants to live His life through me. The practical application to this new way of thinking about life was very helpful. I not only gained a new way of thinking about myself, my problems and my relationship with God, but I loved the practical tools I was given to actually be able to act on these things in a way that is making a profound, lasting change.
If you need help, don’t wait like I did. The staff at TLC are really friendly and make you feel like it is an honor to have you come in.
